Mayor’s Roundtable Comes To Wheeling

Wheeling, WV – City leaders from all over the State of West Virginia will be in Wheeling on Friday to meet with Mayor Andy McKenzie.

Being called “The Mayors’ Roundtable”, the meeting will be held at Oglebay Resort & Conference Center. Leaders from different parts of the State will come to Wheeling to talk about what is working in their respective communities in order to exchange best practices and ideas for a better community. They will also discuss challenges that affect everyone such as population decline, aged infrastructure, and retaining educated talent.

Wheeling Mayor Andy McKenzie said, “Wheeling has a lot of development, culture, entertainment and positive momentum. We want the rest of the State to experience that first-hand. This is also a tremendous opportunity for us to engage with other West Virginia cities about their assets and challenges. It is also a good idea to maintain relationships with leaders from other areas.”

Cities that will be represented are Morgantown, St. Albans, Fairmont, Weirton, Charleston, Parkersburg, Huntington, Vienna, and Wheeling. Class I and Class II cities were invited. Class I cities are those with a population of 50,000 or more and Class II cities have populations of 10,000-50,000.
